WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Shift your perception during a guided observation walk, sketching what feels important rather than what looks "correct."

  • Translate sound into color through rhythm exercises and painting inspired by tempo, tone, and vibration.

  • Explore texture and memory by experimenting with creating 2-D texture and an abstract painting inspired by a scent-triggered memory.

  • Connect flavor to feeling during a guided tasting experience, learning how taste evokes color and energy in your work.

  • Complete a final painting that synthesizes the input of all five senses, reflecting your transformed creative awareness.

  • Connect and unwind with casual introductions and dedicated time for reflection and group sharing, fostering a comfortable and inspiring creative community.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching is rooted in play, simplicity, and experimentation—the same principles that guide my painting. I encourage students to begin with intuition rather than a strict plan, exploring how color can convey emotion, how space can create pause, and how art can slow us down in a fast-moving world. Like my own work, my approach invites reflection and connection, helping students engage deeply with both the creative process and the feelings that emerge along the way.

Alicia has amazing classes that are both fun and educational. I always thought I was a terrible artist but Alicia step-by-step teaching makes it easy to create something beautiful. I loved every painting I’ve done and my favorite class was one using a trowel. Each of her classes is unique and inspiring.

I have participated in several of Alicia Blach’s art classes.   As an instructor she gives very clear direction which is extremely helpful for a rookie artist wannabe like me!   Her patience knowledge and creativity keeps the class fun and interesting.   The end result always gets me excited for her next one.

Joni W.

I look forward to every painting class that Alicia does! Alicia is so bubbly and fun and always positive. The atmosphere is comfortable and it’s a great time, every time!
